The Indrakeeladri hill is situated on the northern banks of the Krishna river in Vijayawada. The hill is approximately 300 feet high and the temple is located at the top of the hill. The hill is also known as Hemadri, Krishnadri, or Vijayawada Hill.
The hill is geologically composed of white quartzite rock. Steps (about 1000) lead to the top where the main temple is situated. Lifts are also available for the convenience of elderly devotees.
